1968 VW Type-2 Bus

Customer Project

This Bus is getting a full 16-module 85kWh Tesla battery pack for a considerable range. The battery pack and its health will be monitored by an Orion2 BMS, complete with thermal monitoring using the canbus controlled expansion module. The manual transmission setup has been removed and a Tesla small rear drive is being installed where the air-cooled engine used to reside, using custom CV axles for a 220kW power output. The Tesla motor will be controlled and monitored by an EV-Controls T2-C. Removing the transmission, shifter components, heater tubes, clutch cables and e-brake cables has freed up a lot the space on the underside, allowing the on-board charger, radiators and fans, coolant heater, and both coolant system pumps to be installed outside of the cabin or engine compartment.

1969 Karmann Ghia

Client Project

We worked with Sonoma County Street Rodz on this beautiful little Ghia.

The motor is a Netgain Hyper9HV using the Netgain X1 Isolated inverter. 7 Tesla Model S/X batteries were mounted behind the rear seat and in the front storage area for this to have top charge voltage of 180V. With all this batteries this car has over 100 miles of range and runs cool and smooth the hole time. The the engine bay houses the contactor box, both coolant reservoirs, the Netgain motor and inverter AND our own Fuse/Relay Panel configuration to control its all.

2005 Mazda Rx-8

In-House Project

This Rx-8 is getting a full 48-module 24kWh Nissan Leaf Gen 2 battery pack. The battery pack and its health will be monitored by an Orion2 BMS. The manual transmission setup will be utilized with an adapter plate to utilize the high rev design (10k RPM).

We have something special in mind for this project when it comes to the powertrain. We plan to show the versatility of the EV Conversion industry with this one.
